Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the surveying team assigned to the tunnel section of the project.
- Establish and maintain accurate horizontal and vertical control networks within the tunnel.
- Conduct daily and periodic tunnel alignments, as-built surveys, and monitoring of deformations or displacements.
- Cookinate with engineers and construction managers to interpret project plans and provide accurate layout and staking.
- Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and use of surveying equipment (e.g., total stations, digital levels, laser scanners, gyroscopic systems).
- Maintain detailed survey records, field notes, and reports.
- Implement safety protocols and quality control procedures within the surveying team.
- Communicate effectively with the design and construction teams to resolve discrepancies or unexpected site conditions.
- Train and mentor junior surveyors and assistants.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in underground or tunnel surveying, preferably in major infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency with survey software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Leica Cyclone).
- Strong understanding of tunnel boring machines (TBM), NATM methods, or similar tunneling techniques.
- Able to lead a team and work under pressure in confined underground environments.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Able to work shifts, weekends, and extended hours as required.
Working hours
Monday to Friday, 8 am-6 pm (10 hours) (1 hour lunch). There is the possibility of working some Saturdays.
