Responsibilities
- Transport and set up instruments and equipment for land surveying, preparing job sites
- Operate all surveying equipment, including Trimble or Topcon GPS with data collectors and Trimble Robotic total stations
- Use level instruments to run level loops for accurate vertical control in topographic surveys
- Calculate the position of property corners on properties and along street and road right-of-ways
- Prepare working sketches of metes and bounds descriptions or field notes
- Locate sufficient property corners to set missing corners before leaving the site, if possible
- Take photos of property corners, measure their size, and include point numbers when tied in
- Upload existing text files into the data collector and download data to create text files for CAD work
- Maintain detailed notes and follow instructions precisely
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external clients
Physical Requirements
- Occasional lifting/carrying of 25 pounds and up to 50 pounds
- Driving to and from various project sites
- Walking and working outdoors under variable weather conditions
