Responsibilities

• Transport and set up instruments and equipment for land surveying, preparing job sites
• Operate all surveying equipment, including Trimble or Topcon GPS with data collectors and Trimble Robotic total stations
• Use level instruments to run level loops for accurate vertical control in topographic surveys
• Calculate the position of property corners on properties and along street and road right-of-ways
• Prepare working sketches of metes and bounds descriptions or field notes
• Locate sufficient property corners to set missing corners before leaving the site, if possible
• Take photos of property corners, measure their size, and include point numbers when tied in
• Upload existing text files into the data collector and download data to create text files for CAD work
• Maintain detailed notes and follow instructions precisely

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external clients

Physical Requirements

• Occasional lifting/carrying of 25 pounds and up to 50 pounds
• Driving to and from various project sites
• Walking and working outdoors under variable weather conditions
