Parts Worker - Vehicle Maintenance

Key Responsibilities

• Issue parts to mechanics
• Aid procurement specialist in maintaining perpetual inventory throughout fiscal year
• Aid in preparation of year-end inventory and preparation of appropriate forms
• Aid procurement specialist in purchasing of parts and clerical work
• Keep parts room neat and orderly
• Assist other personnel as required
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Valid Arizona Driver’s License with clean driving record
• Minimum three years’ experience in auto parts field
• Ability to obtain a class B CDL with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements

Preferred Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent

Skills & Competencies

• Models the attributes and skills of the MPS Portrait of a Graduate
• Familiarity with various types of vehicles (sedans, trucks, school buses, vans, etc)
• Effective communication (verbal and written)
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Computer proficiency to include use of basic software applications (Word, Excel, etc)
• Ability to work overtime and change schedules with minimal notice
• Willingness to pursue educational goals to maintain basic job skills

• This position requires a range of physical abilities to perform the essential duties
• Physical Demands: Frequently pull, reach, push, bend, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and sit
• Uses hand and power tools that require good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
• Strong reflexes for steering, braking, and maneuvering the vehicle safely
• Speaking, hearing, and seeing (with or without correction)
• Maintaining focus for extended periods
