Essential Functions
- Sets up and operates fabricating machines such as shears, ironworker, punches, saws, and drill presses.
- Performs MIG and TIG welding operations on aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel.
- Designs and constructs templates and fixtures.
- Hammers, chips, and grinds workpiece to cut, bend, and straighten metal.
- Verifies conformance of workpiece to specifications.
- Follows all workplace rules and safety guidelines and demonstrates safe work practices.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.
Qualifications
- Knowledge, Education, And/or Experience:
- A high school diploma/GED.
- Previous welding experience required.
- Strong mechanical and technical ability required.
- Skills:
- Language: Able to read and work from blueprints/spec books.
- Able to read and understand a tape measure accurately.
- Able to follow written and verbal directions.
- Math: Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Computer: General knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, SolidWorks, and Adobe/PDFs. Able to perform simple computer tasks to obtain information/changes related to the build process and/or troubleshoot.
- Abilities:
- Able to identify quality issues, recognize changes within the production process, and adjust as needed.
- Able to identify quality issues and recognize changes within the production process and make adjustments.
- Able to prioritize work and to multitask while adhering to deadlines.
- Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
- Able to understand and follow all safety policies to promote a safe working environment for all.
