About the role
The Parts Transport Driver II (Night Shift) operates commercial motor vehicles with 5 axle configurations up to 80,000 lbs. on public highways with the ability to back up to loading docks. Blanchard Machinery Company offers competitive pay, benefits, and continuous learning opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Perform all required pre- and post-trip inspections of truck and trailer.
- Comply with all SC DOT Regulations, State and local traffic and highway laws, rules and regulations including driver’s license and required CDL and all endorsements current.
- Notify supervisor of any driver license problems within 24 hours.
- Safely operate all equipment in compliance with all legal weight and load size limits and report all equipment, parts, property and/or truck damage immediately.
- Inspect all loads to ensure proper load securement is within legal weight before departure to avoid shifting, loosening, or falling while in route.

- Avoid shifting, loosening, or falling while in route.
- Ensure manifests are accurate and error free and that all items being transported are listed.
- Work safely adhering to all applicable safety policies and complying with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Perform out of town work which may require overnight travel per supervisor request.
- Cost of meals, hotel, etc. will be reimbursed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must possess a valid South Carolina Class "A" CDL with less than three moving violations in the past three years.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience.
- Knowable of DOT laws and regulations.
- 1+ year of Sit-down/Stand-up Gas/Propone Forklift experience, preferred.
- 1+ year of Skid Steer experience, preferred.
- Knowledge South Carolina's roadways and laws.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills are required.
- Ability to set and keep priorities while professionally managing the stress of operating in a fast-paced industry with rigid time frames.
- Self-directed, dependable with the ability to complete work with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
- Physical environment requires the employee to work from an on-highway transport truck.
- Required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to injury and/or hazardous materials.
- Job requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting.
- Physical use of a broad variety of tools and equipment for the purpose of inspecting the transport truck.
- Must be able to lift weight up to 50 lbs. unassisted.

Skills
- Knowledge of DOT laws and regulations.
- Forklift operation experience (Sit-down/Stand-up Gas/Propone Forklift).
- Skid Steer experience.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced industry with rigid time frames.
- Self-directed and dependable with minimal supervision.
