About the role

The Parts Supervisor will lead the parts department in day-to-day operations with an emphasis on developing and maintaining an exceptional customer experience. Responsibilities include growing parts revenue year over year, inventory management, and building and maintaining relationships with manufacturers and suppliers. The role involves direct sales, customer communication, and supporting operational success.

Responsibilities

  • Fosters a positive work environment for internal and external customers while adhering to company mission, vision, and values.
  • Provides support to the product support team by answering inbound calls, looking up parts, advising on related parts, assisting with stock orders, placing emergency orders, and communicating backorders.
  • Leads by example in promoting a safe workplace, including SDS, PPE, JSAs, and ensuring company accident and incident reporting procedures are followed.
  • Partners with PSM and Human Resources in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring recommendations.
  • Manages performance of all direct reports, including reviews, coaching, counseling, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Establishes regular communication with customers to resolve account issues and provide parts credits as needed.
  • Utilizes Cor360 to process and approve vendor invoices.
  • Follows up on backorders and assesses new sourcing to expedite parts delivery.
  • Places routine stock and emergency orders with external suppliers.
  • Maintains an orderly parts warehouse and bin locations to support the company’s 5S culture.
  • Processes outbound orders from picking to packing for customers and technicians.
  • Performs routine inventories of customer consignments to accurately charge shortages.
  • Analyzes van inventories to determine parts that need to be frozen, increased, or removed.
  • Processes remanufactured cores to obtain credit from suppliers.
  • Reads catalogs, microfiche viewers, or computer displays to determine replacement part stock numbers and prices.
  • Receives payment and/or obtains credit authorization.
  • Advises customers/technicians on substitution or modification of parts when identical replacements are unavailable.
  • Examines returned parts for defects, exchanges defective parts, or refunds money.
  • Measures parts using precision instruments to determine if similar parts may be machined to required sizes.
  • Performs follow-up sales calls with customers to ensure product satisfaction.
  • Maximizes customer sales potential by advising on parts stocking based on lead times, consumables, maintenance type, and application.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience in material handling or the automotive/heavy truck industry preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience, including strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous parts sales/warehouse or inventory management experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to push, pull, lift 50 lbs., twist, walk throughout the shop and warehouse, climb ladders, and climb stairs.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize demands effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for conveying information clearly to internal and external customers.

Pay

$55,000 - $70,000
