About the role
DEUTZ is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of innovative drive systems. Its core competences are the development, production, distribution, and servicing of diesel, gas, and electric drivetrains for professional applications used in construction equipment, agricultural machinery, material handling equipment, stationary equipment, commercial vehicles, rail vehicles, and other applications.
The Parts Specialist will oversee Warehouse Operations, ensuring DEUTZ has an adequate supply of equipment and parts with the objective of increasing sales and profitability. The Parts Specialist is responsible for picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and storing materials. The role involves liaising with the Service and Engine & Parts Sales team, Field Technicians, internal/external customers, and other DEUTZ Power Center and Corporate locations. The ideal candidate must have strong customer service skills while serving as a DEUTZ brand ambassador. This role is critical to leading DEUTZ forward in providing quality retail parts and materials while maintaining competitive quality targets.
Responsibilities
- Sustain and grow $2,000,000 in annual part sales.
- Maintain appropriate inventory stocking levels.
- Receive and process customer parts orders.
- Liaise with Operations Manager and technicians to order parts for engine and equipment repairs.
- Assist DEUTZ dealers with phone, internet, and email part orders.
- Assist walk-in customers with part sales needs.
- Quote Xchange engines to customers and dealers.
- Must be familiar with all phases of warehouse operations and retail parts selling.
- Daily housekeeping of warehouse/retail parts counter and service department parts counter.
- Place orders for Engine/Parts stock following SAP guidelines.
- Receive and stock freight in hard locations.
- Assemble and stock modification kits.
- Process receiving documents; prepare Bill of Lading / Airway Billing.
- Prepare required paperwork and computer entries within SAP guidelines.
- Pick parts/components from stock for production builds.
- Perform weekly inventory cycle counts.
- Perform annual parts inventory.
- Assist with emergency parts callouts as required by customers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school education.
- Demonstrated forklift experience.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and their parts.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, be insured by the company, and can operate a company vehicle in accordance with all state and federal laws, company policies, and guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of Excel, Word, and internet skills.
- SAP experience or comparable ERP system.

Travel Requirements
Anticipated domestic and international travel is approximately 10% depending on business needs.
Physical Requirements
- Manufacturing assembly and warehouse environment.
- Subject to noise, dust, diesel fuel, oil, and extreme hot/cold temperatures.
- No A/C. If an employee is in the office area, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
