Parts Specialist

About the role

The Parts Specialist oversees Warehouse Operations to ensure DEUTZ maintains an adequate supply of equipment and parts, driving sales and profitability. Key responsibilities include sustaining and growing $2,000,000 in annual part sales, managing inventory, processing customer orders, assisting with engine quoting, and performing various warehouse tasks.

Responsibilities

• Sustain and grow $2,000,000 in annual part sales
• Maintain appropriate inventory stocking levels
• Receive and process customer parts orders
• Liaise with Operations Manager and technicians to order parts for engine and equipment repairs
• Absorb DEUTZ dealers with the phone, internet, and email part orders
• Aid walk-in customers with part sales needs
• Quote Xchange engines to customers and dealers
• Must be familiar with all phases of warehouse operations and retail parts selling
• Daily housekeeping of warehouse/retail parts counter and service department parts counter
• Place orders for Engine/Parts stock following SAP guidelines
• Receive and stock freight in hard locations
• Assemble and stock modification kits
• Process receiving documents; prepare Bill of Lading / Airway Billing
• Prepare required paperwork and computer entries within SAP guidelines
• Pick parts/components from stock for production builds
• Perform weekly inventory cycle counts
• Perform annual parts inventory
• Aid with emergency parts callouts as required by customers

Qualifications

• High school education
• Demonstrated Forklift experience
• Strong knowledge of Diesel engines and their parts
• Familiarity with warehouse operations
• Valid driver’s license, insured by the company, and able to operate a company vehicle in accordance with all state and federal laws, company policies, and guidelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of Excel, Word, and internet skills
• SAP experience or comparable ERP System

Travel Requirements

Anticipated domestic and international travel is approximately 10% depending on business needs.

Physical Requirements

Manufacturing assembly and warehouse environment. Subject to noise, dust, diesel fuel, oil, and extreme hot/cold temperatures. No A/C. If an employee is in the office area, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
