Helps ensure complete customer satisfaction by shipping parts out timely and receiving parts for delivery to service technicians, supporting efficient vehicle repairs and customer purchases.
Responsibilities
- Manage the scheduling of inbound and outbound flow of parts and work in process.
- Communicate with the Service department to ensure required parts are available for technicians.
- Ensure parts are ready for shipment according to required deadlines.
- Determine the proper method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and DOT regulations.
- Contract with freight companies that provide the best rates and service within shipping requirements.
- Ensure accuracy of inbound parts, including inspection of material compared to shipping paperwork (bills of lading, packing lists, parts transfer, etc.). Document material shortages, overages, rejected, or damaged materials.
- Accurately enter all production part receipts to the P.O.'s on the ADP System.
- Accurately receive all MOR and miscellaneous shipments and process related paperwork.
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Support resolution of purchase order, packing slip, invoicing, inventory, and bills of materials discrepancies.
- Support initiatives to improve shipping, receiving, handling, and storage of materials.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the supply chain logistics process.
- Follow all safety and security procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 1-3 years' experience in shipping & receiving (Auto Dealership experience preferred).
- Minimal Parts Counterperson experience a plus.
- Highly professional and dependable.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Customer service oriented.
- Team player with a strong sense of commitment to customers and team members.
- Self-motivated with good written and verbal communication skills.
- Friendly with high energy and willingness to go above and beyond.
- Willing to multi-task.
- Valid California driver’s license.
- Bilingual a plus.
