Parts Picker - Johnson City, TN
About the role
The 1st shift Parts Picker will report to the Warehouse Manager. The Parts Picker is responsible for assisting in customer service orders for shipping. The Picker will partner with the Customer Service Department and assist with pulling service parts, package all items, and ship to proper customers. The Picker may be required to record and track all requests and shipments.
Responsibilities
- Attitude of a team player willing to learn all areas and jump in where needed
- Picking orders accurately in a timely fashion
- Packing orders in securely for UPS and or Fed Ex ground shipping
- Ensure correct shipping information is attached and moving completed orders to shipping area
- Completing BOLs for any LTL shipments
- Count and verify Parts coming in from suppliers
- Putting stock in locations and properly entering them into a computer
- Complying with OSHA and other safety regulations
- Assist with keeping work areas clean, neat, and well-organized
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Job expectations include moderate to heavy physical effort required to perform the essential functions of the job; frequently required to bend and stoop; specific vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Activities: lift/carry up to 50 lbs, push/pull up to 50 lbs, reach overhead; climb, squat/bend/kneel, sit, stand, walk/move about. Occasional: 1-2 hrs/shift; frequently: 2-5 hrs/shift; regularly: 5-8 hrs/shift.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent
- 1+ Year of work experience in a similar role, preferred
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Must be forklift certified
- Need to be flexible during the work week as hours will often change due to workload
- Ability to work harmoniously with diverse range of people
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Exposure to a fast paced lean manufacturing environment is preferred
