Parts Manager- Greensboro

About the role

This position aims to achieve satisfactory profits on the parts inventory invested by the dealer. Key responsibilities involve using proper purchasing procedures, inventory management, staff development, security, pricing, merchandising, display, and advertising.

Responsibilities

• Holds forecasts and objectives for the department and meets them.
• Hires, trains, motivates, counsels, and monitors the performance of all parts department staff.
• Prepares and administers an annual operating budget for the parts department.
• Maintains a balanced inventory to meet the needs of the service department, body shop, wholesale accounts, and DIY customers.
• Establishes pricing parameters in each customer category to generate sufficient gross profit while maintaining customer loyalty.
• Monitors and adjusts inventory to minimize obsolescence and ensures all parts are properly tagged for full credit recovery.
• Supervises stock order procedures, analyzes sales, expenses, and inventory monthly to maintain profit goals, develops and administers an aggressive wholesale parts program, and ensures high-quality service for both internal and external customers.
• Works with the service manager to ensure timely turnaround of parts for internal jobs, attends managers' meetings, holds department meetings, analyzes departmental operations, revises storage layout as needed, provides technical assistance, monitors payroll records, directs shipping and receiving, oversees paperwork, directs outside sales efforts, develops and enforces sales promotions, handles customer complaints, ensures proper accounting for all dealership purchases, assists in account collections, supervises custodians, enforces safety requirements, and complies with relevant regulations.
• Supervises department staff and ensures they work efficiently and produce profitability while adhering to company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Salary range: $75,000 - $90,000 per year, including base salary and bonuses.
