Primary Responsibilities
- Performing warehouse duties using pallet jacks, cherry pickers, and forklifts.
- Reading and deciphering work orders.
- Locating and extracting merchandise from shelves and storage areas.
- Confirming merchandise information matches that of the work order.
- Inspecting the merchandise for damage, flaws, and irregularities.
- Packing the merchandise for delivery.
- Transporting the packed items to the delivery trucks.
- Finalizing the work order and updating the database.
- Adhering to state health and safety practices.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of warehousing procedures is advantageous.
- Previous experience as a fulfillment associate is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret written work orders.
- Forklift and cherry picker certification.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to lift heavy objects.
- Ability to work in a loud environment.
- Ability to stand or walk for up to 10 hours a day.
Physical Requirements
- Sit, talk or hear; frequently required to use hands to grip or feel.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
- Close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
- Manual dexterity suitable for use of utilizing machinery and/or a computer.
- Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes which permits the employee to work in a warehouse.
- Comfortable sitting and standing up to 20-90% of the time comfortably, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Working Conditions
- Must be comfortable working in a complex production machining and assembly environment.
- The working area is primarily in a manufacturing environment located around machines and heavy equipment such as a forklift or pallet operator.
- Operation of the machine requires working with, and coming into contact with, various materials and substances.
- Willingness to wear finger cots, masks, and/or safety vest.
- Working temperatures may vary from hot, cold, humid, wet or dry.
- Working hours may be extended and weekends may be required in order to meet manufacturing needs.
