About the role
The Parts Counterperson provides product customer service and information to help customers determine appropriate equipment to purchase. Recommends additional products, accessories, or services to meet customer requirements. Generates sales revenue by answering telephone calls, verifying and entering items, transferring orders to fulfillment, and explaining product features.
Responsibilities
- Develop meaningful relationships with customers to encourage trust and loyalty.
- Communicate with customers, make outbound calls to potential customers, and follow up on leads.
- Follow up on cold and warm leads to further the sales process.
- Understand customers' needs and identify sales opportunities.
- Answer potential customers' questions and send additional information via email.
- Keep up with product and service information and updates.
- Create and maintain a database of current and potential customers.
- Explain and demonstrate features of products and services.
- Stay informed about competing products and services.
- Upsell products and services.
- Research and qualify new leads.
- Close sales and achieve sales targets.
- Work closely with Outside Sales Representatives (OSSR) and distributors to acquire new opportunities.
- Improve sales skills to increase sales success rates.
- Set and meet sales goals and objectives set by the management team.
- Maintain a professional appearance and a neat work area.
- Conduct cashier transactions or restock merchandise if needed.
- Arrange special orders, deliveries, or instruct customers on product installation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 2 years of Inside Sales experience (preferred).
- Knowledge in the transportation industry (a plus).
- Proven account management or other relevant experience.
- Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customers' needs.
- Excellent word processing and spreadsheet skills.
- Comfort with working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of consumer behaviors and industry trends.

Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM (flexible hours between 8 AM–5 PM or 9 AM–6 PM, depending on business needs).
