Parts Counter Specialist - 2nd Shift

About the role

GTG Peterbilt – Cedar Rapids is a premier provider of quality products and services to commercial equipment users. We carry a large selection of new and previously owned commercial trucks and offer a full suite of maintenance and repair services. The Parts Counter Specialist provides expert support to customers and internal teams by identifying, sourcing, and supplying the correct parts for heavy-duty trucks.

Schedule

This position has a Monday-Friday schedule with the hours of 3:30 pm - midnight, including rotating Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Assist mechanics and customers with acquiring parts.
• Locate parts mechanics might need to finish jobs.
• Answer customer questions, provide price quotes in-person and over the phone.
• Sell parts to help achieve sales goals.
• Stock shelves on display and in warehouse.
• Pull customer orders.
• Maintain inventory, cycle count inventory, assist with core returns.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Self-starter with a positive attitude.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Communicate updates to internal and external customers.
• Mechanical knowledge is a must.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Intermediate computer skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Combination of education, training, or experience providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Automotive or truck part related experience is a plus but not required.

Required Experience

• Sales/Customer Service: 1 year
• Automotive or Truck Parts: 1 year
