Responsibilities
- Oversight of the parts sales process from start to finish.
- Communication with customers on parts needs at the parts counter and status of potential orders if necessary.
- Communication with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Operation, navigation, reading, and understanding of a computer-based, electronic parts catalog.
- Processing customer orders for parts, looking up stock, and performing daily tasks using a computer.
- Answering phone calls, providing price quotes, and other information.
- Providing high-level service to all types of customers, including internal technicians, walk-in, phone, and online customers.
- Pulling and filling orders from stock and/or transferring them.
- Maintaining occasional bin checks to ensure accuracy of stock.
- Participating in annual physical inventory.
- Notifying the parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials needing immediate attention.
- Locating out-of-stock parts and procuring through transfer, stock order, or emergency order, as necessary.
- Making sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair orders.
- Receiving payment from retail customers or obtaining credit authorization.
- Receiving and shipping parts daily from other stores and suppliers.
- Setting up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pickup.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with equipment parts sales (preferred).
- Strong computer skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Able to operate a forklift.
- Able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to calculate basic math and determine amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
