JOB SUMMARY
The primary function of the Parts Counter Representative is to handle internal and external customer requests for parts purchases.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist customers with inquires and parts sales, in person, by phone, in person and electronically.
- Research customer request and needs where necessary and determine correct part(s) needed.
- If part(s) are in stock, produce invoices from computer system; if not in stock and customer wants to order, create purchase order and process orders.
- Review parts requests from the service department and provide quotes for parts requested. Transfer and post all approved parts requested for work orders.
- Maintain compliance with department guidelines by monitoring all invoices, will-call pick tickets, and quotes. Resolve disputed invoices and credits.
- Aid in inventory and core returns to vendors, including pulling, packing, and shipping.
- Absorb responsibilities for the retail area, restocking shelves, pricing, organization, overall appearance, and maintaining parts bins, such as rearranging parts, cleaning, labeling, etc.
- Deliver parts to customers as the need arises.
- Collaborate with the Service Department to ensure timely availability of parts for internal jobs.
- Coordinate with the inside and outside sales teams to deliver effective solutions to meet customer needs for parts and services.
- Complete all required job-related training.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to read, write and comprehend English instructions and information.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 2 years heavy duty truck parts experience.
- Mechanical aptitude desirable.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Ability to operate warehouse forklift and complete formal training program.
- Understanding of standard office procedures, including filing and correspondence.
- Knowledge of bills of lading, freight bills, and parts for heavy and medium duty diesel trucks.
- Excellent organization and communication skills.

Requirements
- Ability to read, write and comprehend English instructions and information.
