Parts Counter Representative

Ballard Truck Center is a family‑owned business providing full‑service commercial truck solutions in the northeast. With over 100 years of service, the company offers sales, service, parts, leasing, and rentals, and has earned multiple “Dealer of the Year” honors from Volvo Trucks and Mack Trucks USA. The W Springfield, MA location is hiring a Parts Counter Representative.

Responsibilities

• Assist walk‑in customers in selecting required parts, suggest companion requirements, offer specials, and ensure exposure to the full product line.
• Pull purchased parts from stock.
• If a part is not in stock, determine availability and submit an emergency order when requested by the customer.
• Answer phone calls promptly, providing price quotes and other information.
• Assist outside sales representatives with their orders.
• Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick‑up.
• Notify customers about ordered parts, promptly restock returns and cores.
• Maintain a friendly, professional, and efficient demeanor with all customers, both on the phone and in person.

Qualifications

• Prior, relevant experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
• Basic computer skills.
• Professional personal appearance.
• Ability to work well with the public, sometimes handling several customers at a time.
• Ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
• Must be able to lift 50 lb or more.
• Required to wear a dealership‑provided uniform.
