About the Role

The Parts Clerk will assist retail and service customers with parts selection, process orders, maintain inventory, and provide exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong attention to detail, and enjoys working collaboratively with customers and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Assist retail and service customers in selecting the correct parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Recommend companion parts, accessories, and current promotions to ensure customers are aware of the full product offering.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, provide pricing information, and respond to customer inquiries.
  • Pull and fill customer and internal parts orders from inventory.
  • Notify the Service Director of out-of-stock parts or shop materials requiring immediate attention.
  • Locate out-of-stock parts and coordinate with vendors to meet customer and service department needs.
  • Notify service advisors, body shop personnel, and customers when special-order parts arrive.
  • Pull orders for the body shop, ensuring all parts are properly tagged with customer names and job numbers.
  • Monitor and follow up on backordered parts.
  • Review will-call and back-order files weekly, returning unclaimed items to vendors or restocking inventory as appropriate.
  • Replenish assigned inventory daily to maintain stock levels.
  • Ensure all internal parts requests are accurately billed on service repair orders.
  • Process retail customer payments and obtain credit authorizations when necessary.
  • Provide customers with accurate invoices and receipts.
  • Process returns and issue credits after verifying original purchase information.
  • Maintain organized records of repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special-order parts.
  • Prepare customer orders for shipment or customer pickup.
  • Stay informed on new products, parts updates, and manufacturer information.
  • Assist in maintaining the lost sales tracking program.
  • Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with customers, coworkers, and vendors.
  • Follow company dress code and workplace policies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of related parts, automotive, warehouse, or customer service experience required.
  • Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Tekion dealership software is preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Pay

$18.00 / hour + commission
