Parts Buyer - Kansas City

Overview

The Parts Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory of parts and supplies necessary to maintain the companys fleet of trucks, trailers, and equipment. This position ensures timely availability of quality parts at competitive pricing while supporting shop productivity, minimizing downtime, and maintaining accurate inventory controls.

Responsibilities

• Sources and purchases parts and supplies from approved vendors
• Manages inventory levels to ensure adequate stock
• Works with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and prices
• Supports shop productivity by ensuring timely delivery of required parts
• Maintains accurate records and inventory controls
• Minimizes downtime by ensuring parts are available when needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management
• Strong understanding of procurement processes and supplier relationships
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for inventory management

Qualifications

• Knowledge of asphalt-related industries and materials is a plus
• Experience with inventory management systems is preferred

Pay

Salary range: $50,000 - $60,000 annually

Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
