About the role

Custom Truck One Source (CTOS) designs, assembles, sells, rents, and services trucks, cranes, and other heavy equipment for utilities, telecom, construction, forestry, oil, and rail companies in Canada and the USA. The Parts Associate will efficiently manage the procurement and distribution of heavy‑duty equipment, diesel engine, and hydraulic component parts for outside sales and internal repairs. Responsibilities include receiving, placing, and filling orders promptly, ensuring parts are available for mechanics, and maintaining accurate inventory records.

Responsibilities

  • Order and track parts/inventory to minimize delay time in completing vehicle repairs.
  • Provide written documentation of parts ordered/received as required by the company.
  • Assess requests for parts related to heavy‑duty diesel, utility equipment, and hydraulic systems to ensure correct items and quantities are ordered.
  • Timely process orders and contact vendors as needed, following company procedures.
  • Collaborate with managers and team members on large purchases to prevent unnecessary expenses.
  • Work with managers and team leaders on parts requests to eliminate costly returns.
  • Track all incoming and outgoing inventory in accordance with company procedures.
  • Accurately distribute parts to mechanics and assign equipment within the inventory system.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date computer‑based parts and inventory systems by inputting data promptly and accurately.
  • Assist in conducting inventory counts and keep inventory records to meet company standards.
  • Help ensure proper inventory levels are maintained to prevent production delays.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support efficient unit functioning.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Parts and service or related experience required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and inventory software; experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) and creating parts lists using Excel preferred.
  • Extremely detail‑oriented and accurate with strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work priorities, meet deadlines, and set priorities.
  • Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and punctual attendance; willingness to work additional hours as needed.
  • Physical capability for lifting, carrying, and related tasks.
  • Effective communication and problem‑solving skills.
