Parts and Rental Salesperson
About the role
This position is responsible for selling parts to customers over the counter and providing necessary parts to the service department. You will deliver exceptional customer service, supply timely and accurate information about accounts, products, rates, and services, assist rental customers with reservations, contracts, and transactions, and maintain rental equipment and inventory in good operating condition.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service at the counter, on the phone, and internally.
- Maintain positive and professional relationships with peers, management, and support resources, emphasizing teamwork and exemplary customer service.
- Meet or exceed monthly sales goals.
- Stay engaged and knowledgeable about the corporate parts promotion schedule.
- Recommend additional related or needed parts or accessories to customers.
- Communicate, enforce, and monitor effective Parts Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Process all orders (in-store and online) accurately and timely; communicate order status to customers.
- Locate and obtain merchandise for customers; coordinate with the Parts Inventory Team for out-of-stock items.
- Maintain inventory integrity through cycle counts, discrepancy follow-ups, and issue escalation.
- Assist in preparing and enhancing the showroom image, maintaining cleanliness, and arranging merchandise displays.
- Rent equipment or arrange for service, prepare rental forms and contracts, and obtain customer signatures.
- Compute rental charges, explain fees, and provide operational or descriptive information about rented items.
- Collect deposits or payments, record credit charges, balance daily sales receipts, and maintain customer charge files.
- Manage rental reservations, update overdue lists daily, and alert supervisors of overdue contracts.
- Assist customers with loading and unloading equipment; demonstrate safety and operational features.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent experience; Associate's degree in an Agriculture field preferred.
- 1+ years of Parts experience or equivalent sales or service experience.
- Experience connecting with customers, maintaining a professional image, and establishing rapport.
- Basic understanding of the selling process.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a degree of independence.
- Experience working both independently and in a team setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends.
- Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets Employer's insurance requirements.
- Proficiency in standard desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, internet applications, apps).
- Ability to use a handheld barcode scanner.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to talk, hear, sit, walk, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel.
- Work in both an office environment and a storage/warehouse facility; operation of a forklift required.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, grasp, pull, push, type, and reach with arms and hands.
- Ability to climb, kneel, crouch, balance, stoop, crawl, bend, and twist.
- Ability to view computer monitors for extended periods.
