About the role

As a Partner Shipper, you will consolidate customer goods and prepare them for export, ensuring a superior level of quality service and compliance with export regulations.

Schedule

Tuesday - Saturday from 6:00 a.m. - 2:45 p.m. The schedule can change based on operational business needs, including overtime as required.

Pay

Guaranteed $18.50/hour. After 90 days as Partner Shipper I, if meeting all level expectations, you can move to Partner Shipper II at guaranteed $19.50/hour.

Responsibilities

  • Always put our customer first
  • Maintain attention to detail while working at a fast pace
  • Use good judgment and work independently
  • Sort packages based on unique requirements of partner consolidations
  • Scan house “child” shipments into custom-constructed boxes/overpacks according to partner-specific requirements, including special labeling
  • Properly capture weight and dimensions of completed overpacks
  • Use master ship software to complete partner shipments, including initiating, staging, and closing out shipments, as well as entering correct flight information and airport data
  • Verify key information on partner packages (e.g., incorrect labeling, address label issues, missing proformas)
  • Properly affix shipping labels and export documentation to shipments
  • Audit completed master shipments for piece count and labeling accuracy
  • Work closely with the Logistics Program Manager to adjust work processes based on daily volume
  • Ensure dangerous goods (DG) are packed according to compliance regulations
  • Assist in conveyor operations, including basic troubleshooting of belt/line failures
  • Read, comprehend, and follow all customer instructions and special requests
  • Assist the ship and inventory teams, including ship support, as required by management

Requirements

  • Ability to work in an open-air warehouse
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds constantly, up to 50-100 pounds occasionally with assistance (two-person lift technique required for objects over 50 pounds)
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and relevant background screenings
  • Adequate authorization to work based on business needs

  • Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees
  • Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine
  • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
  • Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances
  • Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force to thrust forward, downward, or outward
  • Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force to draw, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion
  • Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position
  • Stair climbing: Must be able to ascend and descend stairs frequently throughout the workday
  • Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm of hand
  • Repetitive motion: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Heavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects
  • Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word, conveying detailed or important instructions accurately, loudly, and quickly
  • Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and receiving detailed information through oral communication
  • Visually: Determining accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned, as well as making general observations of facilities and structures

Working Environment

  • Must be able to perform job duties from elevated platforms or mezzanines
  • Subject to environmental conditions, with protection from weather but not necessarily from temperature changes
  • During certain months, subject to extreme heat (temperatures up to 100 degrees for periods exceeding one hour, with humidity considerations in an open warehouse)
  • Warehouse fans are regulated by facilities management and are not within direct control of the individual
  • Subject to noise levels requiring elevated voices to be heard above ambient noise, especially near machinery
  • Subject to hazards, including proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical areas, machinery, and exposure to heat or chemicals
