Responsibilities
- Provide supervision to the service area DIS team unit (Case Workers II & II) for HIV/STD Partner Service Activities under the state Partner Services Program Manager.
- Ensure training for new staff, daily workload distribution, and management of goals.
- Perform or review surveillance analyses, case management guidance/recommendations, and other quality assurance elements.
- Assure compliance with HIPAA and privacy standards, federal/state laws, and South Carolina Department of Public Health's STD/HIV/VH Section policies.
- Collaborate with internal programs and external health stakeholders to deliver effective disease-interrupting services.
- Identify and implement workforce staff development needs and opportunities.
- Direct, manage, and implement daily partner service unit activities and systems.
- Perform daily agency administrative activities, demonstrate mentorship skills (e.g., training and coaching staff in interviews, field investigations, and software skills).
- Teach and use program-relevant software and database systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in physical or social sciences from an accredited college or university.
- Ten (10) years of experience working in public health programs, ideally focused on STD/HIV with medical or investigative tasks.
- Three (3) years of experience supervising Disease Intervention Specialists (DIS), case workers, or providing daily oversight of non-clinical coordinators who perform sexually transmitted infection (STI) contact tracing activities.

- Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered, subject to approval by the DPH Chief Human Resources Officer or their delegate.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related field of study (e.g., health science, service, or administrative advanced study).
- Certifications such as Certified in Disease Intervention (CDI), CDC TRAIN - Disease Intervention Training Plan (Course ID 5110), Certified in Public Health (CPH), Certified Case Manager (CCM), or Project Management Professional (PMP).
- Completion of DPH courses: Personnel Practices, Introduction to Supervision, Conflict Resolution, Harassment Prevention Through Awareness, etc.
