About the role
We are seeking ministry-minded individuals to join our After School team as Part Time Youth Mentors. The primary role is fostering youth development in an after-school setting by leading elementary students in enrichment activities. This is a non-exempt, part-time position averaging 17-20 hours per week during the school calendar year.
As a Christian ministry, Mentoring Alliance exists to mobilize godly people into the lives of kids and families, providing tangible help and eternal hope. Each staff position, including this one, is an integral part of our mission and vision. We consider a Part Time Youth Mentor to be first and foremost a Minister of the Gospel.
Responsibilities
- Lead elementary students in enrichment activities in an after-school setting.
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor to kids in the community.
- Foster youth development and help kids reach their full potential.
Requirements
- Agree with and exhibit behaviors in accordance with the Mentoring Alliance Statement of Faith.
- Must be at least 17 years of age; High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred. Some post-secondary training is highly preferred.
- Pass a mandatory background and sex offender check.
- Valid driver’s license or valid ID.
- Legally allowed to work in the United States.
- Have dependable transportation.
- Able to work Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. during the school calendar year.
- Ability to earn CPR/First Aid certification (mandatory).
Qualifications
- Passion and love for working with elementary school-aged children.
- Experience working with elementary school-aged children is preferred.
- Spanish-speaking ability is greatly valued.
