Part-Time Youth Forestry & Natural Resources Intern

Penn State Extension is seeking applicants for a part-time Youth Forestry & Natural Resources Intern position.

Responsibilities

• Assist with interactive environmental education games and activities for K-6 students in McKean County.
• Support program set-up, implementation, and clean-up at educational events and programs.
• Participate in occasional meetings with the program leader/educator to interpret scientific literature and help develop, test, and refine educational games and activities.

Requirements

• Interest in and passion for nature, with a desire to share that enthusiasm with children.
• Basic understanding of science and environmental literacy concepts.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Availability during school-day hours, when most events take place.

Schedule

8 weeks at 8-10 hours per week.

Pay

The starting rate for this job is $15.00/hour.

This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check are also required.
