Part-Time Yard/Warehouse Rep (Seasonal)

Homewood & Meeks, a Division of US LBM, is a team-oriented company with a relaxed atmosphere. This entry-level position involves receiving, stocking, shipping, ordering, and counting inventory items, with a focus on the safe operation of a forklift to handle lumber and building materials.

Responsibilities

• Operate safely and adhere to workplace safety procedures.
• Participate in maintaining a positive and organized work environment, including cleaning bays and staging areas.
• Receive, count, and record incoming products and materials.
• Stock materials in appropriate bins or storage locations.
• Assist with inventory control and warehouse organization.
• Operate a forklift to move materials, build outgoing orders, or load delivery equipment.
• Use facility equipment such as banders, power tools, and hand tools.
• Monitor inventory as directed by location management.
• Maintain awareness of the work environment to ensure error-free and damage-free results.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including potential operation of a company vehicle for deliveries or inventory transfers after completing required training.
• Comply with all company policies and standards.
• Complete assigned trainings.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to perform basic math, read orders, write instructions, and complete forms.
• Willingness to learn to read a tape measure.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers, employees, and supervisors.
• Ability to handle conflict constructively and recognize potential problems.
• Proficiency or willingness to learn current technologies (e.g., smartphones, inventory control systems, and business applications).
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record may be required based on location and job responsibilities.

Pay

$18.00 - $22.00 per hour.
