Part-Time Weekend Staff - Admissions (Garden City, NY)

About the role

Zero Gravity Basketball is the largest basketball tournament operator on the East Coast, running over 175 events per year across 26 states. As part of the 3 Step Sports LLC team (which operates more than 1,000 events annually), we are always seeking energetic, sports-minded individuals for part-time Weekend Event Staff – Admissions roles. Ideal candidates have a strong work ethic and a desire to succeed in fast-paced event environments.

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers upon entry with a friendly demeanor
• Sell and attach wristbands for event entry
• Answer basic facility questions (e.g., court numbers, restroom locations)
• Enforce wristband-only entry for all attendees
• Check in coaches and attach wristbands
• Sell Zero Gravity retail merchandise
• Process all transactions in the POS system and follow proper cash-handling procedures
• Assist with event setup, breakdown, and other operational tasks as assigned by the Site Director

Qualifications

• Strong desire to work in sports
• Friendly, customer-service oriented, with relevant experience preferred
• Ability and willingness to work extended hours, including weekends
• Strong communication skills and willingness to engage with spectators and coaches
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel up to one hour to events
• Experience handling cash and entering transactions into a POS system preferred
• Reliable, responsible, and committed to positively impacting tournament success
• Positive attitude and desire to represent the brand professionally through on-site interactions
• Confident and able to stand firm when addressing spectators and coaches
• Approachable and dedicated to ensuring all attendees have a great experience
