Part-Time Water Safety Instructor

Responsibilities

• Maintain required American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification.
• Attend required WSI meetings as scheduled.
• Prepare class lesson plans appropriate for all assigned classes and make adjustments daily as needed.
• Implement class lesson plans for all assigned classes.
• Maintain a safe and fun learning environment.
• Assign duties to aquatics staff.
• Regularly update parents on their child's progress in swim classes as needed or requested.
• Report any problems or concerns regarding students, parents, equipment or pool assignments to the aquatic manager.
• Organize and maintain swim lesson supplies and equipment.
• Record attendance for classes daily.
• Complete and distribute certificates to students at the end of each session.
• Promote and encourage fellow staff to practice customer service excellence.
• Promote the benefits of aquatics and aquatic programs.

Requirements

• At least 16 years old.
• American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor.
• American Red Cross Adult and Child CPR/AED, Infant CPR and First Aid.

Retirement

The City contributes 14% monthly toward retirement benefits offered through the Ohio Public Employee Retirement System. The employee pension payment share is 10% of gross salary.

Personal Leave: Eligible for 24 hours of personal leave if more than 500 hours worked in previous calendar year. Eligible for 40 hours of personal leave if more than 1000 hours worked in previous calendar year.
