Part-time Veterinary Receptionist

About the role

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Conshohocken, PA is seeking a compassionate, organized, and motivated Part-time Veterinary Receptionist to join our team!

Responsibilities

• Greet and make friendly eye contact every time our hospital entry door opens to offer the individual warm and professional acknowledgement.
• Offer a friendly smile, strong eye contact and an approachable demeanor.
• Be a compassionate listener. Speak clearly, slowly, and calmly in person and on the telephone in a way that clients easily understand.
• Assess immediately upon arrival each client’s rare need, as well as the pet’s general condition.
• Determine whether an emergency arrival is a “stat” versus “standard” emergency.
• Respond to non-patient calls or visitors and connect them to the appropriate team member.
• Confirm all appointments in advance ensuring clients receive accurate information about preparing their pet for the appointment.
• Offer emotional support and resource materials to grieving clients in a compassionate and discreet manner.
• Serve as a liaison between clients and service agencies during handling of pet remains by ensuring a complete, accurate, and compassionate process.

Requirements

• Compassionate, organized, and motivated
• Ability to function calmly and compassionately in emotionally challenging situations
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in a customer service or receptionist role preferred
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures helpful

Pay

This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. We Also Offer Competitive Shift Differential Pay For Eligible Hours Worked For Nights And Weekends. Shift Differentials Are Based On a 4-hour Minimum. For Example Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $3.50 Shift DifferentialSat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $3.50 Shift Differential Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.00 Shift Differential

• Sunday 8am--4pm
• Wednesday 12pm--8pm
