Part-Time Tutor
Southington, CT
Responsibilities
- Diagnose learning skill deficits and deliver prescribed instructional delivery methods.
- Consult with school personnel to coordinate efforts in providing services to students.
- Communicate and confer with parents providing information on student progress.
- Deliver prescribed instructional delivery methods as determined by the Company.
- Attend training sessions and deliver designated instructional models and strategies in readiness, reading, mathematics, and/or writing skills to students.
- Develop and maintain individualized skill-appropriate lesson plans.
- Ensure supervision of students, including escorting students safely to and from sessions.
- Establish and maintain student forms and files as required by the Company, local, state, and/or federal agencies.
- Attend and document meetings/training with Company Supervisors, classroom teachers, principals, and parents as required.
- Maintain inventory of educational materials and supplies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- The Positive, Enthusiastic Tutor We Seek Has These Qualifications:
- Non-licensed tutors: Individuals with an associate degree (or higher) from an accredited institution of higher education; or at least two years of study at an accredited institution of higher education (defined as 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours).
- Licensed tutors: Teachers with proper credentials recognized by the State of CT as Properly Licensed Teacher.
- Tutors must complete an FBI/BCI background check.
- Teaching experience preferred.
- Unwavering belief that all children can learn.
- Ability to navigate online platforms for record keeping and communication.

Physical Requirements
Light lifting, walking, climbing stairs. Most programs are in school settings.
