Part-Time Tutor

Responsibilities
- Adhere to prescribed lessons and activities as established by the program.
- Deliver instruction in an environment conducive to the learning experience, including supervision of participants and assessment of participant skill levels to assist them with reaching program goals.
- Utilize effective classroom management skills; assist, advise, and counsel a diverse student population regarding program policies and standards while demonstrating sensitivity to student needs and circumstances.
- Address questions or concerns and use training and instructional methods that reinforce learning.
- Seek support and guidance from the Lead Educational Instructor.
- Motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process, including threaded class discussions, research, enrichment activities, and physical activities.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- One year of work experience in the educational field; or two or more years of related experience and/or training.
- Experience working with the at-risk population strongly preferred.
- Previous experience working as a Tutor is preferred.
- Skills in analytical thinking, excellent verbal and written communication, self-motivation, collaboration, resourcefulness, flexibility, initiative, problem-solving, decision-making, organization, planning, creativity, objectivity, interpersonal relations, and critical judgment.
- Ability to provide basic skills instruction, including learning and utilizing various instructional technology software programs and equipment.
- Must have an appropriate and valid state driver’s license, meet requirements for Eckerd’s Auto Insurance, and be able to drive for business purposes.

Pay
Hourly Rate: $22.23
Schedule
- Part-time up to 25 hours per week.
- Temporary position through May 31, 2027.
- Monday–Friday, 2:00 pm – 6:30 pm.
About Our Program
Eckerd Connects provides youth services through contracts with Franklin County Department of Job and Family Services to offer comprehensive programming to support youth through academics, social and emotional learning, and physical activities. The program serves youth ages 5–13 in Out of School Time (OST) settings.
