This position is open to current Penn State Smeal undergraduate students in the Sapphire Leadership Program.
About the role
Teaching Assistant for the BA 342 Sapphire course (Fall 2026 semester), assisting Dr. Pala.
Responsibilities
- Attend class and help instructor track attendance and participation
- Assist the instructor and students during in-class exercises
- Grade individual and team assignments, quizzes, and exams, providing constructive feedback
- Proctor exams
- Hold office hours as necessary
- Uphold the Smeal Honor Code and Class Codes of Conduct
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student information and course materials
- Demonstrate sensitivity to diversity in students’ cultural, racial, gender, and ethnic backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs
Requirements
- Current Smeal undergraduate student in the Sapphire Leadership Program
- Minimum 3.5 GPA
- Strong knowledge of material from MGMT 301 and BA 342, with a record of academic excellence in these courses
- Ability to work effectively one-on-one with students seeking help
- High level of integrity, professional behavior, and commitment to individual student success
Schedule
Estimated time commitment of 10 hours per week for the Fall 2026 semester.
Pay
Starting rate of $15 per hour.
