Part-Time Substitute Custodian

About the role

Performs routine cleaning of school facilities, including floors, walls, restrooms, and furniture, under general supervision. Monitors buildings for damage, suggests preventive maintenance, and operates cleaning equipment safely and efficiently. Works under the guidance of the head custodian or facilities supervisor within established protocols.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation
• Identify maintenance needs
• Ensure safety standards
• Schedule own tasks and adapt to changing conditions with minimal planning responsibilities

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Combination of education, training, or experience demonstrating the ability to perform duties
• Preferred experience in a K-12 school setting
• Bilingual Spanish skills preferred

• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
• Understanding of safety procedures
• Ability to work independently and follow established routines
