About the role

This Part-Time Student Worker – OTS Media Services role supports campus media and technology operations within the Office of Technology Services. The position is part-time, on-site at the West Charleston and North Las Vegas, Cheyenne Campuses in Las Vegas, NV, and is intended for currently enrolled students who can balance work responsibilities with their academic schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the setup and operation of audio-visual equipment for classes and events
  • Help maintain media rooms and equipment inventories
  • Provide basic technical support to faculty, staff, and students
  • Collaborate with the OTS team and respond to service requests
  • Ensure a professional and customer-focused experience for campus users
  • Set up and tear down CSN-hosted events
  • Move equipment around campus
  • Review documents for completeness
  • Perform data entry tasks
  • Conduct simple hardware/software maintenance under supervision
  • Assist OTS staff on support calls and miscellaneous assignments as designated by a manager

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a student at the College of Southern Nevada or eligible student status
  • Enrolled in at least 6 credits to qualify as a student worker
  • Ability to work on-site in Las Vegas, NV, and manage time effectively

Skills

  • Ability to work with audio-visual and media equipment, including projectors, microphones, cameras, and classroom technology
  • Basic computer literacy and comfort with common software and digital tools used in academic and media environments
  • Strong communication and customer service skills to assist faculty, staff, and students in a courteous and professional manner
  • Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and reliability in following procedures for equipment setup, storage, and tracking
  • Willingness to learn new media technologies, follow safety and usage guidelines, and adapt to changing instructional and event needs
  • Previous experience with media services, IT support, or customer service is helpful but not required
