Part-Time Student - Manufacturing Engineer Weld - Dubuque, IA

About the role

Located in Dubuque, Iowa, this onsite Part-Time Student – Manufacturing Engineer – Weld position supports John Deere Dubuque Works. Relocation assistance is not provided. The Part-Time Student Program is designed to augment regular full‑time staff, allowing students to work year‑round alongside their academic schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide support of welding and fabrication operations across the factory utilizing your technical experiences.
• Drive continuous improvements working with a cross functional wage and salary team.
• Establishing sequence of events, proper operating method sheets, layouts, tool concepts, part and equipment costs, and quality plans.
• Participate in team studies related to capacity, productivity, and efficiency and quality improvement.

Requirements

• Pursuing a 4-year degree in Welding Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology or Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering with Welding Emphasis or equivalent experience.
• Robotics Programming Knowledge & Experience.
• Experience with welding of High Strength, low alloy steel.
• Understanding of GD&T, Tool Design, & 3D Modeling.
• Practical experience with Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW).
• Must be registered as a full-time student at a US local accredited college or university.
• Available to work during the academic year 16-20 hours a week.
