Part-Time Store Manager (Madison 360 Center)

About the role

As the Manager, you will assist the store by overseeing store operations, sorting items donated, making schedule of employee work week, helping customers on the store floor, and ensuring that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out.

Responsibilities

• Close the cash drawers at the end of each shift, count money, verify sales match register tape, complete necessary paperwork, and make deposits.
• Monitor the cashiers, staff and volunteers assigned to the store.
• Ensure the store is neat and clear. Oversee and assist production to make sure shelves are fully stocked, items are accurately priced, and coordinate pricing.
• Learn all policies and procedures and ensure compliance.
• Supervise employees of the thrift store as needed.
• Other tasks as assigned by leadership.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Background check required; all results will be reviewed.
• Past retail experience a plus but not required.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver's qualification standard.
• Complete Safe-From-Harm training within the first 30 days of employment.
• Complete all necessary computer-based training to be safety compliant (e.g., ladder training).

Skills & Abilities

• Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele.
• Able to positively interact with the public, customers, and donors.

Physical Requirements

• Good speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity
• Lifting, pulling, and pushing of materials up to 25 pounds
• May require bending, squatting, walking
• May require standing for extended periods

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a store/warehouse environment; will require weekend and evenings.

Minimal travel for picking items if scheduled pick-up for the store.

Pay

Starting at $14.90 per hour.
