As the Lead Store Clerk you will assist the Store Manager with front-end operations of The Salvation Army Family Store. You will report directly to the thrift store manager. You will also be responsible for the store manager’s responsibilities while the store manager is away. Primarily, this includes attending to customer needs, stocking shelves, rotating store merchandise, and keeping a clean and professional atmosphere that attracts customers and increases sales, in order to ensure the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out.
Responsibilities
- Run the cash register, greet customers, inform them of daily sales, and maintain good customer service
- Assist customers with donations when other employees are not available to do so
- Work with store manager to implement the rotation of store product
- Maintain store displays and weekly sales boards as needed
- Work with store manager to fill out appropriate paperwork and make nightly deposits on a daily basis
- Train store employees on how to fill out paperwork and run the cash register
- Assist in maintenance and janitorial duties as needed
