Part-Time Store Cashier/Stocker

About the role

ALDI is seeking enthusiastic part-time cashiers and stockers. Cashiers will provide efficient checkout service, while stockers will help keep shelves stocked and organized.

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Model and fulfill all customer service principles and escalate concerns to store management as necessary
  • Aid store management in achieving operational efficiency goals
  • Aid store management in achieving total loss goals
  • Comply with all established company policies and processes
  • Support store management in providing a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment in proper working order
  • Maintain store zones and merchandising standards at all times
  • Adhere to inventory procedures and product handling guidelines
  • Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards
  • Cashier Responsibilities:
    • Utilize POS system to accurately scan and process customer purchases
    • Inform store management of scanning concerns or errors
    • Follow cash policies and procedures
    • Open additional check lanes as required to ensure an efficient checkout
    • Complete curbside pickup orders by accurately retrieving items from the store, verifying order contents, and ensuring timely delivery to customers' vehicles from the staging area
  • Stocker Responsibilities:
    • Stock shelves and displays neatly while following merchandising planograms to maximize sales
    • Must be able to arrive to work as early as 5:00am

Qualifications

  • Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service
  • Ability to operate all store equipment such as cash registers, floor scrubber, cardboard baler, pallet jacks, handheld devices, computers, etc.
  • Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and with others
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and complete assigned tasks to maximize productivity within established timeframes
  • Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance
  • Ability to meet availability requirements

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old required
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred

Pay

  • Starting Wage: $19.00 per hour
  • Wage Increases: Year 2 - $19.50| Year 3 - $20.00 | Year 4 - $20.00 | Year 5 - $21.00

Schedule

  • Average Hours: Fewer than 30 hours per week
