Part-Time Store Associate (New Albany - Clarksville Thrift Store)

Job Description

As the Store Associate, you will help facilitate the effective and efficient day-to-day operation of the Thrift Store, ensuring that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out.

• Greet potential customers being friendly, responsive, and helpful.
• Aid donors, potential donors, and shoppers in a friendly, respectful manner.
• Receive donations and provide receipts for donated goods to the donor.
• Sort, clean, display, store, and price donated items according to store procedures.
• Ensure the sorting, storage, and receiving areas are clean and orderly.
• Keep floors swept clean and clear of debris, and dispose of trash properly.
• Pull, remove, and recycle expired items according to store procedures.
• Assist with the bailing operation.
• Learn and adhere to store policies and procedures.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in retail marketing and sales preferred.
• Mandatory Safe From Harm training within the first 90 days of employment.

Skills/Abilities

• Able to speak, write, and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication.
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and ability to learn electronic reporting systems.
• Able to interact positively with the public and with donors.
• Able to work well as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Good speaking, hearing, and vision ability.
• Excellent manual dexterity.
• Lifting, pulling, and pushing of materials up to 25 pounds.
• Bending, squatting, walking.
• Standing for extended periods.

Working Conditions

• Work in a retail and warehouse environment.
• May require working weekends and evenings.
