Part-Time Store Associate/Cashier/Stocker

About the Role

ALDI is looking for enthusiastic part-time store associates, stockers, and cashiers. Each role plays an important part in maintaining smooth store operations and delivering an excellent customer shopping experience.

Position Type

Part-Time, with average hours fewer than 30 per week.

Pay

Starting wage: $18.00 per hour, with increases to $18.50 (Year 2), $19.00 (Year 3), $19.00 (Year 4), and $20.00 (Year 5).

Responsibilities

• Store Associate: Merchandising, stocking products, cashiering, and cleaning to keep the store looking its best.
• Cashier: Provide friendly, efficient checkout service, utilize the point-of-sale (POS) system, adhere to cash policies, and complete curbside pickup orders.
• Stocker: Keep shelves stocked and organized, follow merchandising planograms, and arrive as early as 5:00 AM.

General Duties

• Model and fulfill customer service principles, escalating concerns to management.
• Assist management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
• Comply with company policies and procedures.
• Support a safe working environment by identifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment.
• Maintain store and merchandising standards, adhere to inventory procedures, and perform general cleaning tasks.

Physical Demands

• Push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move between areas.
• Lift, carry, and place products weighing up to 45 pounds, including overhead.
• Operate equipment such as cash registers, hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers.
• Work in varying temperatures, including freezers and coolers.
• Use glass and multipurpose cleaning products.

Qualifications

• Provide prompt and courteous customer service.
• Operate store equipment (cash registers, floor scrubbers, etc.).
• Interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Follow instructions, pay attention to detail, and work independently or with others.
• Organize, prioritize, and complete tasks within established timeframes.
• Maintain reliable and prompt attendance, meeting availability requirements.

Education and Experience

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.
