Part time Speech Therapist
Overview/Impact
We are currently seeking a part-time Speech Therapist to handle a caseload of 19 students. The position requires availability for two days per week, from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. You may choose any two days that best fit your schedule, offering flexibility and convenience.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct, high-quality speech and language therapy services to students in both individual and group settings, according to their Individualized Education Service Programs/Individualized Education Programs (IESP/IEP).
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose and evaluate speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
- Develop and implement innovative and effective treatment plans customized to the unique needs of each student.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other school professionals to establish a holistic and supportive learning environment.
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation of all services, progress, and outcomes in accordance with DOE and Knowledge Road standards.
- Participate actively in IESP/IEP meetings, offering expert insights and recommendations to advance student progress.
Qualifications
- Current valid NYS license in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a school-based setting.
- Proficiency with electronic documentation and teletherapy platforms.
- NYC DOE fingerprinting and vendor status required or willingness to complete prior to start.
Schedule & Location
This is a part-time, school-day position in Brooklyn following a schedule that aligns with the NYC DOE calendar. You will deliver services on-site at schools in the Brooklyn area, with assignments determined by student needs.
Compensation
This 1099 contractor role provides tiered hourly rates depending on group size, from $80-$185/hr
