Part Time Speech Paraprofessional - Iron Springs Elementary

About the role

Iron Springs Elementary is seeking a Part-Time Speech Paraprofessional to support the identification of students with communication disabilities and help implement treatment plans that minimize adverse impacts on student success.

Schedule

15 hours per week. Regular, reliable, predictable attendance and job performance are required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct speech-language screenings (without interpretation) following specified screening protocols developed by the supervisor.
• Provide speech-language services to students who do not require full-time monitoring by a certified SLP, implementing documented treatment plans or protocols developed by the supervisor.
• Document student performance and progress toward established goals and report this information to the supervisor.
• Assist with documentation, material preparation, and other duties as directed by the supervisor.
• Schedule activities, prepare charts/records/graphs, enter information into record-keeping programs, and perform checks and maintenance of equipment.
• Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction of the Speech Therapist and classroom teachers.
• Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students and monitor their progress.
• Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable full participation in activities.
• Work with other professionals, such as speech therapists, social workers, occupational and physical therapists.
• Support students with emotional or behavioral concerns and assist them in developing appropriate social skills.

Requirements

• Basic computer knowledge, familiarity with Google Docs, and frequent email checking.
• Willingness to learn and use all required computer systems and software.
