About the School

Compass Collegiate Academy (CCA) is a public charter school in Charleston, South Carolina, serving grades K-1 since August 2021. The school is expanding by one grade each year until it becomes a full Kindergarten through 8th grade school. CCA’s model and budget are designed to ensure the student body reflects the population of North Charleston and the Charleston peninsula. The school is built on these core beliefs:

Responsibilities

  • Provide speech therapy services for students with an IEP, following the frequency and duration designated by the IEP.
  • Schedule and/or attend IEP meetings (in person or virtually) for referrals, disability determinations, re-evaluations, annual reviews, and special reviews.
  • Coordinate testing dates, times, and locations with the Special Education Coordinator and/or School Psychologist.
  • Provide written summaries of testing results and observations within a 60-day timeline when requested.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation in accordance with South Carolina Public Charter School District policies and state/federal special education laws.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the school’s mission.

Requirements

  • Current South Carolina licensure, ASHA certification, and a state teaching license.
  • Expertise in applicable SLP laws and procedures.
  • Proven track record of achievement.
  • Experience working with a culturally diverse student body preferred.

Schedule

This role is approximately two days per week.

Pay

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
