Part-time Speech Language Pathologist

About the role

Mennowood Retirement Community in Newport News, VA, invites you to join our dynamic therapy team as a Part-time Speech Language Pathologist.

Responsibilities

• Provide speech-language therapy services to residents as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Assess and document progress of residents receiving therapy services.
• Participate in regular meetings with the therapy team to discuss resident needs and treatment outcomes.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Current CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Experience working with older adults is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with residents and their families.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills

• Excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices in speech-language pathology.
• Proficiency in using speech-language assessment tools and techniques.
