Part-Time Special Education School-Age Paraprofessional
About the Role
Special Education Paraprofessionals work with school-age students with behavioral, developmental, and neurotypical needs by providing academic and behavioral support in the classroom. This part-time position is located at our Northwest Center (88th & Blondo) with hours Monday through Friday, 2pm–5:30pm.
Behavioral experience is preferred but not required. Starting pay is $17.00–$19.00 per hour, based on experience.

Responsibilities
- Provide academic and behavioral support to students in the classroom.
- Adhere to work schedules and demonstrate flexibility in dealing with clients, parents, and team members.
- Complete required training, including Personal Care Aide training, Positive Behavioral Supports, and Crisis Intervention and Safety Training.
- Complete annual continuing education hours (CEUs) based on hours worked.
- Read and understand written plans for student care.
- Perform physical caretaking duties, including lifting up to fifty pounds and practicing 2-person lifting when necessary.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of experience working in a licensed childcare center or public school system preferred (not required).
- Ability to pass health clearance, Nebraska Child Abuse/Neglect Central Registry check, Adult Abuse/Neglect Registry check, and criminal background check, including fingerprinting.

- Paid time off accrual: 1 hour per 30 hours worked (accrual cap of 56 hours) for employees working 15+ hours per week who complete at least 80 consecutive hours of employment in a calendar year.
