Job Summary
The Center for Disability & Access (CDA) is recruiting part-time Sign Language Interpreters. These positions are part-time, variable-hour positions providing ASL interpreting services for University classes, lectures, meetings, and other campus events. Services are provided to undergraduate and graduate students, staff and faculty, and community members on campus.
Responsibilities
- Provide Sign Language Interpretation (ASL) for University classes, lectures, meetings, and other campus events.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately interpret and translate verbal and written text.
- Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in an efficient, productive manner maintaining composure and sensitivity in accordance with the environment of health care services.
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a foreign language, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).
Department-Specific Qualifications
- Depending upon the department of hire, a knowledge of medical terminology may be required.
