Part-Time Security Specialist - Highland Park

Job Summary

The Security Specialist is responsible for performing security and safety functions within a cannabis cultivation facility. Essential duties include checking in all employees, visitors, vendors, and deliveries, maintaining logs, reviewing surveillance video, creating badge access cards, alerting management, coordinating delivery schedules, monitoring quality control measures, adhering to company policies, maintaining a clean and safe working environment, documenting activity, and performing other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Check in all employees, visitors, vendors, and deliveries.
• Ensure all visitors, vendors, and delivery drivers sign in on the sign-in sheet.
• Scan IDs and provide temporary badges to visitors, vendors, and delivery drivers.
• Maintain all hard copy and digital logs of scanned IDs, sign-in sheets, and all facility logs.
• Provide general support to visitors, vendors, and delivery drivers.
• Review surveillance video of events and create/maintain event logs from all security systems.
• Create new badge access cards for new employees, visitors, and vendors.
• Alert management for required support on all security systems—skyline cameras, Strat security/fire alarms, and internet connectivity.
• Cook up delivery schedules and outgoing office shipments with management.
• Maintain quality control measures in accordance with state and local laws.
• Adhere to company policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment within the facility and production areas.
• Immediately inform Security Manager of any system discrepancies.
• Document all activity using company’s track and trace system.
• Work within company continuous improvement system and strive to increase productivity.
• Check in and check out all van keys for drivers.
• Give all cash to Human Resources or appropriate party for accounting.
• Schedule weekly armored vehicle pickups for cash deposits from order fulfillment.
• Ensure door is locked during any time cash is out.
• Clock in and clock out all employees.
• Accept cash from all delivery drivers on every delivery and store in safe.

Minimum Qualifications

• Previous experience in security operations and procedures required.
• Positive attitude and good interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to learn about, operate, and maintain facility equipment in a safe manner.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be 21 years of age or older and authorized to register with the state’s cannabis commission as an agent.
• Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies associated with the industry.

Physical and Mental Demands

• Frequent stationary position.
• Occasional movement and positioning.
• Communication, operation, and preparation of objects, tools, and controls.
• Occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.
• Standing for 90% of the time.
• Working at heights up to 25 ft.
• Working atop and traversing scaffolding.
• Comfortable with changing environment temperatures and humidity.
• Close observation and adjusting focus.

Working Environment

• Warehouse environment.
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock.
• Moderate noise levels.
