Responsibilities
- Deter criminal activity and misconduct
- Respond to alarms, calls of distress, or emergencies such as fire, injuries, or presence of unauthorized persons by calling police, fire departments, and/or local emergency response teams
- Make periodic patrols to check for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons
- Prepare clear, concise, accurate reports
- Operate access control systems, utilize a computer for incident reports, navigate security software systems or applications, and use email
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills, professional demeanor, and appearance
- Demonstrate experience managing multiple tasks, executing radio and telephone communications, and performing in a high-pressure environment
- Perform other duties as determined by the security supervisor
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED
- 21 years of age
- Valid state licensing, if applicable
- Pass a criminal background check and drug test
- Technology skills: operate access control system, utilize a computer for incident reports, operate security software systems or applications, use email
- Strong customer service skills, professional demeanor, and appearance
- Experience managing multiple tasks, executing radio and telephone communications while performing in a medium to high pressure environment with frequently changing and/or competing demands
- Familiarity with report writing
- Excellent surveillance and observation skills
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Possess strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to interact effectively with client staff and the public
Qualifications
- Two years of customer service experience
- Two years of security experience
- CPR and First Aid Certification
- Law Enforcement, Corrections, or Military Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or a related field
