About the role
Part-time Seasonal Warehouse Associate on the 2nd shift. Hours available Monday through Friday between 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
Pay
$17.00 per hour plus a $1.50 shift differential beginning at 2:00 PM.
Responsibilities
- Pack metal cases, boxes, and displays with books and non-book products according to corporate process and procedure.
- Meet productivity, accuracy, and quality standards for all packing tasks.
- Maintain clean, safe, and good-condition outbound cases, boxes, and displays.
- Unpack returned book fairs following corporate process and procedure.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure proper packing of book fairs.
- Use scanners to perform item inquiries and request replenishment of pick locations.
- Pick and pack customer reorders.
- Keep the work area neat, clean, safe, and organized.
- Perform seasonal inventory production-line resets individually and with co-workers.
- Learn and demonstrate proficiency in Fair Finishing and Assembly functions, including Quality Assurance scanning.
- Participate in Physical Inventory functions, including counting inventory.
- Assist in conducting Customer Appreciation Warehouse Sale Events.
- Handle all merchandise carefully and operate warehouse equipment and tools safely.
- Report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or injuries immediately.
- Use proper lifting, packing, and handling techniques for heavy objects, ladders, and display cases.
- Accurately and timely complete Labor Data Collection Cards per company standards.
- May operate motorized pallet jacks after completing the SBF power equipment training program.
- Maintain required attendance, punctuality, and company standards.
- Maintain courteous and positive relationships with co-workers and customers.
- Comply with the company’s drug- and alcohol-free policy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to demonstrate basic product scanner proficiency with minimal errors.
- Strong team player with the ability to get along with co-workers.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, basic math skills, and ability to read English documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
Physical demands
- Lift boxes up to 50 lbs occasionally on a daily basis.
- Lift boxes up to 30 lbs to a height of 70 inches occasionally on a daily basis.
- Push wheeled cases that may weigh in excess of 300 lbs, with an initial force up to 50 lbs and a sustained force up to 30 lbs.
- Stand, reach above and below shoulders, squat, bend, and kneel as necessary.
- Tolerate work in a non-air-conditioned environment.
- Accurately follow specific instructions for multiple detailed assembly processes.
- Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Frequently stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally sit and climb or balance.
- Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
