About the role

Queen of All Saints School is seeking a school counselor to serve the social-emotional needs of students from grades PreK through 8th grade.

Responsibilities

  • Present school counseling classroom lessons based on American School Counselor Association student success standards
  • Short term counseling with students and provide referrals for long-term support
  • Counseling (group or individual) to teach intervention strategies to increase academic success, conflict resolution, anger management or adjustment to school
  • Collaborate with families/teachers/administrators/community for student success
  • Advocate for students at student support meetings and other student-focused meetings
  • Mobilize family, school and community resources to enable students to learn as effectively as possible at school
  • Collaborate with staff to support students through direct support, in-services or behavior management
  • Auxiliary in crisis intervention, de-escalation, consulting on serious events and developing individual safety plans for students in need
  • Implement the practices of the Administrators' Manual for Student Crisis and partner with the principal in student crisis situations

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree or higher in Counseling, School Counseling, Social Work, Psychology
  • Preference will be given to applicants with the following Illinois PEL School Support Endorsement:
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
  • Licensed Social Worker (LSW)
  • Psychology license
  • Experience in a school setting

Pay

This position has an hourly range of $70.00 - $77.00. An employee's pay within the hourly range will be based on many factors including but not limited to: relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
