About the role
Queen of All Saints School is seeking a school counselor to serve the social-emotional needs of students from grades PreK through 8th grade.
Responsibilities
- Present school counseling classroom lessons based on American School Counselor Association student success standards
- Short term counseling with students and provide referrals for long-term support
- Counseling (group or individual) to teach intervention strategies to increase academic success, conflict resolution, anger management or adjustment to school
- Collaborate with families/teachers/administrators/community for student success
- Advocate for students at student support meetings and other student-focused meetings
- Mobilize family, school and community resources to enable students to learn as effectively as possible at school
- Collaborate with staff to support students through direct support, in-services or behavior management
- Auxiliary in crisis intervention, de-escalation, consulting on serious events and developing individual safety plans for students in need
- Implement the practices of the Administrators' Manual for Student Crisis and partner with the principal in student crisis situations
Requirements
- Master’s Degree or higher in Counseling, School Counseling, Social Work, Psychology
- Preference will be given to applicants with the following Illinois PEL School Support Endorsement:
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
- Licensed Social Worker (LSW)
- Psychology license
- Experience in a school setting

Pay
This position has an hourly range of $70.00 - $77.00. An employee's pay within the hourly range will be based on many factors including but not limited to: relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
